Quiet

Bouguereau - Le Repos Ever feel like there is so much to do and so little time to do it in?

This is a common concern these days. Rush here, rush there, check the calendar, check the e-mail. Sometimes it can be such a challenge to just sit still and BE in the presence of God. Quieting the mind long enough to allow room for God's Spirit to flow freely is one of our greatest spiritual discipline challenges. Jesus is called the Prince of Peace in part because He knows that it is in the peace of God that we find the strength of God. Jesus offers to us perfect peace in a time when there is very little in our world that is perfect or peaceful. We are called to clear our calendar or take a few moments of our day to just sit quietly with God. We will then be strengthened and transformed, knowing that the One with greater wisdom than us can guide our thinking and acting even in the most challenging moments of our day.

Isaiah 30:15
For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel:
In returning and rest you shall be saved;
in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.
Thank you God for quiet, rest, peace, and strength. Amen.
