Jesus Our Intercessor
Have you prayed for anyone lately? God so loved each of us that Jesus
Christ was sent to earth to teach us how to intercede for each other.
Jesus stood proxy for us when he prayed in the garden as noted in the
Gospel of John, Chapter 17. Each born again Christian is included in
this prayer. Isn’t it wonderful to know that before we came screaming
from the womb of our mothers and sprouting from the seeds of our
fathers, Jesus interceded between God and us? Thank God we have an
intercessor that knew and taught us how to pray.
As we go into our sacred closet to pray, remember that Jesus prayed for
“protection from the evil one, and that God, the Father has sanctified
all who believes in the truth as he taught his disciples.
Are you excited today that you know how to talk to God? It is our Lord
and Savior who taught us to communicate with divinity. The prayer in
John Chapter 17 reminds me of a seasoned elder who often talked to God
three times a day while relaxing on the front porch. Her testimony goes
like this: "My grand child often sat on my lap or stayed in my presence
all day watching nearly every move I made. One particular day, the
child noted that I was sitting in an old rocking chair just humming, and
saying over and over, yes Lord, yes, Lord, I know, I know you hear me...
I went on like this throughout the day. Finally, the child asked,
'Grandmamma who do you talk to every day like this? I don’t see anyone.'
I told the child that I am talking to my God because I know
Jesus is my friend."
After learning of this story, I am more sure than ever that all
Christians have a direct, personal communication with God through
Jesus. Let us not waste time. Wherever we are at any time, because of
Jesus our intercessor, we have access to God. Use the access.
