Jesus Christ
From the majesty of God's omnipotent power to the intimacy of Jesus's love we find the fingerprints
of the Risen Christ. Let us ponder the moment of Jesus's wrestling in the Garden 2000 years ago.
From a state of deep grief and anguish, He wrestled with the most important decision He had to
make up to that point in his life. He knew what awaited him, physical pain yes, but also, a pain
far greater for his Spirit, literal separation from God for a brief period of time that must have seem
like an eternity to Him. Yet because he didn't want us to ever know that separation, He went
forward with God's plan for him. There is a mystery that happened on the cross that we may
never fully grasp this side of heaven, but what we can see with clarity, is what happens afterwards.
Disciples who feared, scattered and ran came together to lead the greatest spiritual awakening
of all time. From Judas, we learn the sad realization of one who cannot ask for God's forgiveness
and grace. From Peter, we come into the knowledge of God's healing power through His love,
compassion and forgiveness. In the memory of Christ's sacrifice for us, let us try to love as He
loved and forgive as He forgave and finally, live as He lived.
Heavenly God,
Forgive us for we know not what we do. We know not what we take forgranted. We know not the
fullness of your power. In our mortal state of being, enlighten us. In our human state of understanding,
educate us. In our spiritual state of grace empower us. There is no other name under heaven that
sounds so sweet as the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. It is in His name that we offer up our prayer
to you. Amen.
