Commit to Prayer
One nation under God...
One Humanity...One God...
This past week, we have seen the world in which we dwell become smaller,
as our nation and the world has pulled together to insure that
Goodness and Truth prevail. Our hearts are heavy for all the victims.
We have had the privilege of waking up everyday with the
security of freedom so intermingled into our souls that we didn't even
think about it. It was just as much a given as the knowledge that our hearts
will beat and our minds will work. Not something one questions, just knows
internally. We have always appreciated the ones who fought and protected
that freedom in the past, but now we understand at a deeper level,
it is indeed a privilege.
May God wrap wings of healing around
each of us, and allow the mind, body and spirit of our nation
and the world to be made whole. May God's spirit caress us this day
with the balm of Gilead, and then may we begin to soothe each other.
Although we may not have the courage of the
many heroes in our midst, we do
rest in the knowledge that we can commit ourselves to prayer.
Through prayer with God and our connectedness to one another,
may God gives us the strength to do whatever we are called upon to do,
to insure freedom and God's truth to prevail and reign.
One God. One People. One Hope. Amen.
