Christmas Wish List
decorated trees
At this season of year, we see so many trees beautifully decorated. They stand tall and proud with their array of lights and ribbons. But as I was driving today, I saw an old evergreen that has been sadly neglected for many years. It was very misshapened and scraggly, growing in a shape hugging the ground on one side, and tipped upwards on the other. No lights or ribbons here - sad old tree. I thought that all it would have taken was an early stake to lean on, a light pressure to pull it straight, and some pruning or other needed correction. How many of God's people do we neglect to help in their formative years? Do we let them grow crooked and ugly when all it would have taken was a little mentoring, some tender loving care, a strong arm to lean on, even an occasional kind word?

Dear God, Let me be there to nurture and take responsibility for your children when they are in need. Give me the heart and wisdom I need to nurture and cultivate your world wherever I can. That is my Christmas wish list. Amen.
