The Whole Armor of God

armor

Everyday brings new challenges. I want to face them as prepared as possible. So everyday I put on the whole armor of God, for I want to be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his power (Ephesians 6:10-17).

I put on the belt of truth, for only in truth will I be set free (John 8:32).

I put on the breastplate of righteousness, for only in the path of righteousness is there life (Proverbs 12:28).

I slip on the shoes of peace because the peace of God surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

Next I take up the shield of faith, because faith is the assurance of things hoped for, and the conviction of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1).

Atop my head I firmly affix the helmet of salvation, because the LORD is my light and salvation (Psalm 27:1).

Finally, I take up the sword of the spirit, because it is the spirit that gives life (John 6:63) and the fruit of the spirit is love, joy and peace (Galatians 5:22).

Thank you dear LORD, for being with me, within me, and around me. I feel so safe in the strength of your power. Amen.
